Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be enjoyed in casinos across the world, or in your house on your PC, through a net account. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the best mixture of cards possible in order to come away with money. In this respect it is very similar as a normal game of poker, minus the involvement with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the player inserts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "handed out" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and enthusiasts should now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the player has chosen which cards he wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be needed they will be dealt. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.
Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful players are able to choose the most beneficial game each instance.
Once the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the player an opportunity to double their profits, in which instance a further round is played. There are also variations among specific games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
