Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your home computer, through an Internet account. The game rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player attempting to get the greatest combination of cards possible in order to come away with money. In this respect it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, apart from the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker begins when the player inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will be "given out" on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the enthusiast has decided on which cards he or she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be needed they will be given out. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are agile enough to select the most profitable ones each and every instance.
After the first round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that have been won. Additionally, several styles of the game give the enthusiast a chance to double their winnings, in which situation another hand is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
